Revision Surgery after Failed Axialif
Patient History: 31-year-old woman with substantial back and bilateral thigh pain. Another surgeon performed an AxiaLif and posterior screws. She had persistent back pain. She developed new thigh pain. Imaging below shows a substantial herniation at the level above the AxiaLif. She failed conservative measures to improve.
Surgery: Patient underwent a revision L3 – pelvis fusion and re-instrumentation with interspace spacer(TLIF) at lumbar 3–4 and ventral discectomy/decompression of L3-4.
Outcome: The patient experienced approximately 80% relief of her back pain. There were no hospital complications. She was discharged after 3-4 days in the hospital.
